About Our Clients
The families that we work with are primarily single parents, minority families
within the greater Philadelphia are. Our families are faced with a varied of issues
including drug and alcohol dependency, mental illness, lack of financial resources,
and HIV/AIDS.
About Our Staff
Executive Director Kathy Desmond leads the Best Nest Staff. Kathy received her MSW
from Temple University and has been with Best Nest since its beginning. The dedicated
and diverse staff of administrators, social workers and support staff are talented and
committed to making the quality of life better for the children and families we serve.

About Our Board of Directors
Father Don Reilly, OSA is in his second year as Board President. Father Don is Executive
Director of SILOAM Ministries, dedicated to helping those affected/infected with HIV/AIDS
access their spirituality as a resource for wellness. The Board Vice President is William
F. Sweeney, an attorney with Hecker Brown Sherry and Johnson. Deborah A. Griffin a Senior
Manager with Price Waterhouse Coopers, LLP Serves as Treasurer. Other dedicated board
members are Stephany Coakley, a social worker at CHOP; and retired program manager of
Programs for Exceptional People Virginia Ross.
